What you'll be doing
- Develop and maintain a modern .NET Core 8 based software platform with a focus on enhancing the user interface using React, transitioning legacy MVC components to a more responsive and scalable front end.
- Collaborate closely with the team to integrate newly acquired products and features, ensuring seamless functionality and alignment with overall system architecture.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives to improve delivery efficiency and product quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack, including backend services, database interactions with SQL Server, and front-end UI components.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that support investigation and case management key business workflows.
- Contribute to the adoption of best practices such as unit testing (NUnit, xUnit) and cloud deployment automation using Azure services and scripting tools like Bicep or PowerShell.
- Support knowledge sharing and mentoring within the development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Work primarily from the Nottingham office with a flexible hybrid schedule, maintaining effective communication across distributed teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years’ professional experience in full stack development, with a strong emphasis on front-end technologies such as React (approximately 70% of the role) and back-end development using C# and .NET (approximately 30%).
- Proven expertise in developing, maintaining, and migrating complex applications, ideally with experience transitioning legacy MVC applications to modern React-based front ends.
- Solid understanding of SQL Server, including writing and optimizing queries, with practical knowledge of database management beyond ORM usage.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, including deploying and managing resources via UI and scripting tools such as Bicep or PowerShell.
- Demonstrated ability to write and maintain unit tests using frameworks like NUnit or xUnit, contributing to a culture of quality and test-driven development.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholders, present ideas clearly, and contribute proactively to team discussions and decision-making.
- Self-driven and adaptable, capable of working effectively within a hybrid environment that includes a minimum of two days per week onsite (Nottingham preferred) and remote work flexibility.
- Experience in regulated or investigation-related industries is a plus but not mandatory.
- Candidates based in Nottingham or Glasgow, UK, are preferred to support the hybrid working model.
